Genomic testing for clonal integrity

High-value crops are propagated clonally, and every round of propagation is a chance for somatic mutations (genetic changes that arise during cell division and tissue culture) to slip in. His lab first characterized the tissue-culture-induced chromosomal disorders that Ground Truth Genomics was founded to catch, and his research program spans long-read sequencing, haplotype-resolved genome assembly, somatic mutation detection, and machine-learning approaches to variant analysis.
